Agricultural Fumigants Market: Safeguarding Crops and Boosting Yields

The agricultural fumigants market plays a vital role in global food production by helping farmers protect crops from pests, weeds, and soil-borne diseases. Fumigants are chemical compounds used to disinfect soil, grains, and storage facilities, ensuring healthy harvests and minimizing post-harvest losses. As the global population grows and the demand for high-quality food increases, the adoption of agricultural fumigants is becoming more widespread, especially in regions where agricultural productivity is crucial for economic growth.

Importance of Agricultural Fumigants

Agricultural fumigants are applied to the soil or storage units to eliminate harmful organisms such as nematodes, fungi, insects, and weeds before planting or during storage. This process significantly improves seed germination rates, crop quality, and overall yield. Fumigation also plays a key role in maintaining food safety standards by preventing infestations during storage and transportation, reducing spoilage, and extending the shelf life of grains and other produce.

The best kind of friend ...

I loved Steve - deeply - and feel so blessed to have had him as a mentor, friend, and advocate. We first met over Zoom during the chaos of 2020, and I was immediately in awe of not only his intellect but his warmth, charisma, and authentic connection to the true spirit of sport-based youth development. From there, we spoke frequently, and he provided incredible advice as I was launching my consulting business and non-profit. In a world where it can be tough to trust people, he was someone who made it easy to believe in inherent goodness.

When we met for the first time a few months later, we spent an hour talking in his office, sharing life stories. Surrounded by photos from events, awards, and mementos, I got the feeling that he was singularly unimpressed by the accolades and more keen on sharing stories of his family -…

Coach Miller: The Wild Card Who Became a Legend

ree

Photo: Dr. Vic Buccola, Steve Miller and Peter K. Godinez

Coach Miller had more than one beginning in his fascinating journey—and I was lucky enough to be there for one of the most important. We both arrived at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1976 and, fittingly, left in 1981. It felt like destiny. I was a second-generation Mustang, following the trail blazed by my father, Pete Anthony Godinez, a Hall of Fame boxer from the Class of '55.

My dad had the honor of training alongside one of his closest friends, Dr. Vic Buccola—who just so happened to be the Athletic Director at Cal Poly during that pivotal moment. When the legendary Coach Steve Simmons announced his departure, Dr. Buccola headed the search committee to find a worthy successor to lead the Track & Field program.

It was Coach Simmons himself who whispered, “You might want to take a…

Steve and I got off on the wrong foot, sort of

I said something feminist in a Nike sports marketing meeting. Steve accosted me during a break and gave me a hard time. I gave him a hard time back, and then we were friends.

One day he called me up and said, "you seem like the kind of person who could give a good book recommendation." He had a long flight to Japan coming up and was looking for something to read. I lent him a copy of A Confederacy of Dunces, and a few days later he told me that he had laughed so hard on the plane that the flight attendants had shushed him several times for disturbing nearby passengers. He thanked me with great enthusiasm.

It felt like a win.

Zoom call 💜

First, I want to send my love and support to Suzanne, Claudine, Cris and their families. I know this is a deep loss for them.

The last time I spoke to Coach was a couple years ago when I was on one of my many girls’ trips with former teammates/roommates Rita (Graves) Jackson, Kelly (Wenlock) Donovan and Renee (Williams) Smith. We were in New York City and ended up on a zoom call with Coach. It was so fun and special. It meant a lot to him that we girls were still so close because friendships were important to him. We got caught up and laughed…oh, did we laugh! It had been years since we had talked to him and it was so natural and fun. We girls still talk about it and will raise a glass to him on our next trip.

It is not surprising that Coach could…

Kansas State

I was hired by Steve in late August of 1988. I started the end of September and was fortunate to assist Steve with the Head Coaching Search that produced Bill Snyder. I was with him in Coach Snyders house that Sunday in November when he convinced Coch Snyder to at least come visit campus. The rest is history. There was no better salesman than Steve. He also hired Dana Altman, who also has been named Conference Coach of the Year numerous times and National Coach of the Year as was Coach Snyder. Kansas State would not be what it is today if it was not for Steve Miller.

I LOVED STEVE MILLER!!

The Nike “Master”…Ken Popejoy

In 1991, as a 40 year old masters miler, meet director Tom Jordan invited me to run the elite mile at the Prefontaine Invite! When I lined up, I was introduced as the runner that took 2nd to Prefontaine in the 1969 Golden West High School Invite. I’m sure the other competitors wondered why an “old man” was in the race…but I was reasonably competitive with a 4:08 finish!

On the backstretch, I heard my name called out and it was Steve Miller (who I fondly remembered as the former Bloom high school coach in Illinois in th late 60’s when I was running for Glenbard West! He was excited about my running faster at 40 than my 18 year old time vs Pre at 4:09!

He then asks me “what can Nike do for you”? I had no idea what he meant…but the end result was him getting m…

Writing letters

I was very fortunate to have competed for Coach Miller at Cal Poly. He was the first coach I ever had that actually was able to motivate me to go beyond what I thought I was capable of. He taught me, and the rest of us, to believe in ourselves. When I went into coaching, Coach was my role model and I tried to emulate his style. (I even called some of my athletes "Buds")

His influence channeled through me into my athletes. Whether they were NCAA Div ll champions or Conference also-rans who set a PR that day, it didn't matter. The goal we always set was to improve and be the best we could be at the biggest meets of the year. I wanted them to believe in themselves. All that came from Coach. It is said that imitation is the highest form of flattery. This was certainl…

Steve Miller's Day Off

As a newbie sports marketing lawyer at NIKE, I had the good fortune of supporting Steve on a slew of deals.  On one day working with him, he literally made me cry uncle.  It was a beautiful Spring day in 1997 during The Great Buffalo Hunt.  The Hunt was a legendary episode in NSM history when Rudy Chapa dispatched across the country tandem teams to engage with athletic directors and lockdown then-trendsetting all-sport/multi-sport outfitting deals.  In shifting pairings, Steve, Bill Kellar, Chris Bevilaqua, Adam Helfant, Kit Morris, Mike Barnett, Ralph Greene, Ed Janka, Paul Kelly, and I crisscrossed America cutting deals in a single meeting, and then moving on.  The goal was to lock-up agreements with every team that was ranked in the Top 25 in either football, or basketball.  We came damn near close to doing so.

Anyway, I was paired with Steve for a visit to a Big…

Stories like this capture what really matters in sports culture — shared moments, big personalities, spontaneous days that turn into lifelong memories, and that feeling of being fully present in the experience. When the day finally slows down and you’re unwinding with those memories still buzzing, having something simple and familiar on your phone like https://casino-nic-au.net/app/ fits naturally, as it’s a mobile casino app built for relaxed, easy play without noise or complication. It’s the kind of platform you open casually, enjoy a game or two, manage deposits smoothly, and close again, very much in the spirit of savoring the moment rather than rushing it, the same way a perfect day at Wrigley stays with you long after the final out.
